850 Edward Wooster's birthplace is something of a mystery. Most Ancestry trees claim he was born in Cheddington in Buckinghamshire and folklore has it that he emigrated to America in 1651 with his brothers Thomas and William, William being the Reverend William Worcester of Salisbury, formerly the Vicar of Olney in Northamptonshire, England.
Extensive research on the Worcester Family Website would seem to disprove the idea that Edward came from Cheddington.
The conclusions from the various sources would appear to be that none of Edward, Thomas, or the Reverend William Worcester were from Cheddington, but it neither proves nor disproves that they might have been brothers.
That Edward founded the Connecticut line is undisputed.

Wooster, Sergeant Edward (I1)
