  	Born William Porter. In summary he enlisted in 1915 as Pte Portman, embarked OS, had VD, was returned to Australia for treatment, went AWOL and discharged (Illegally absent 24 Feb 16 to 21 Jul 20). Like many, re-enlisted and served under an assumed name William Worster. Having looked into this fellow for a number of years, I believe he simply served as Worster due to the discharge described in his army file. Perhaps Worster as he hailed from Worcester? [1]
