Wallamba –May, 1913(Another in a
series of historical articles gleaned from the archives of “Manning River
Times”by Bob Mann) Mr Howard Wooster the youngest of Mr Charles
Wooster’s seven sons, died on Sunday night aged 27 years. The young man had
been a sufferer for over three years from an affectation of the head apparently
one sad result of which was to almost leave him almost blind for about 2 years.
His case baffled the skill of the best medical men in Sydney, not one of whom could state the cause of his illness.
Though treated by several doctors surgically and otherwise his case was
hopeless all along. He has left a young widow and two children. His remains
were interred in the Failford cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. F. A.
Woodger conducting the impressive burial service of the Church of England.
The funeral, despite the rainy weather, was numerously attended
