 | Melancholy Accident SOUTH BUCKS FREE PRESS
SATURDAY OCTOBER 1st 1859
PENN:
MELANCHOLY ACCIDENT
On Saturday last a most distressing accident occurred in this village to Mr JOHN WOOSTER - baker.
It appears that Mr Wooster's horse was a vicious tempered animal and was in the habit of kicking, so much so, as to require to have forefoot strapped up before it could be safely approached. On Saturday morning, Mr Wooster being somewhat pressed for time, ventured to harness the horse without adopting the usual precaution, and when put on the crupper, it kicked out in a most vicious manner and laid Mr Wooster prostrate. The injury received was so serious that he died the same evening. On Monday an inquest, before F Chansley Esq., Coroner, when those facts being given in evidence the jury returned a verdict of accidental death.
We understand the horse has been shot, and that a subscrip¬tion has been set on foot, that, the widow who is left with four children, shall not be a loser from the loss of the animal. We doubt not that the appeal will be liberally responded to.
