    • Thomas's origins are somewhat mysterious. On his marriage document in 1872 he is described as a "steward" and quotes his father as Thomas Worcester who was a cooper. On the 1871 census a Thomas Worcester (b.1847) was a "gun room steward" in the Royal Navy on board the Charybdis and it would therefore be reasonable to assume this is the same man.
      In 1861 there was a Thomas Worster (b.1848, St George in the East) at the St George East Industrial School and described as a pauper. In 1856 a Thomas Worcester aged 9 was discharged from the Stepney workhouse and it would seem likely that this is also the same person.
      There is no current link to any of the trees on the website, since all the people called Thomas Worcester/Wooster/Worster/Woster born around that time are accounted for.
