At the time of her conviction, Mary lived at Cannon Gate, Scotland. Mary was sentenced to seven years over the seas for theft of clothing.
She sailed on the Navarino from Downs on 12th October 1840 and arrived in Hobart on 17th January 1841.
On her arrival in Hobart, Mary was assigned as a servant to Timothy Wooster.
Her height was 4' 10", complexion was fair with freckles, oval face, blue eyes, brown hair, scars over both eyebrows.
For being absent without leave for 3 days she was reprimanded.
For being out after hours she received 7 days solitary confinement at Richmond Gaol.
Mary married Timothy on 14th March 1842 at St David's, United Church of England and Ireland in Hobart. She could not read or write as she signed her name with a cross. Her age was stated as 18 years.
